Building Momentum in Abuja: Expanding the D.R.E.A.M.S. Network

The growth of D.R.E.A.M.S. Academy in Abuja represents an important step forward in our mission to expand access to meaningful, engaging education. What is taking shape in Abuja is not just a program, but a network of schools, students, and educators connected by a shared opportunity to learn, explore, and grow.
Across the city, our work is now reaching students at LEA Quarimpa Primary School, LEA Quarimpa Secondary School, Terrigem Royal Excel Academy, Footstep International Schools, and Britarch School (Airport Road). Each of these schools brings its own community, its own environment, and its own group of students who are now part of the broader D.R.E.A.M.S. learning experience.
Rather than being confined to a single location, this model allows us to operate across multiple sites at once, creating a wider footprint and a deeper impact. Lessons are delivered through a combination of virtual instruction and in-person support, allowing us to connect directly with students while also relying on the presence of local volunteers to facilitate activities, guide participation, and ensure that each session remains interactive and engaging.

Featured in the image is one of our young adult volunteers working directly with students in one of our group learning venues. Moments like this capture what our program is all about. It is not just about delivering lessons, but about creating personal interactions where students feel supported, guided, and encouraged to engage with what they are learning, no matter how many students there are.
There is a noticeable shift that happens during these sessions. Students who may begin quietly often become more engaged as the lesson progresses. Questions begin to surface. Participation increases. Attention sharpens. These moments reflect the purpose behind the work, creating environments where students feel comfortable stepping forward and interacting with new ideas.
The scale of this effort in Abuja also highlights the importance of collaboration. Coordinating across five different schools requires alignment, communication, and a shared commitment from everyone involved. School leaders, volunteers, and students all play a role in making each session possible. It is a collective effort that continues to grow stronger with each interaction.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with each of these schools and to be part of the learning experiences taking place within them. Expanding into Abuja has allowed us to reach more students, introduce more ideas, and continue building a model that connects classrooms across different locations through a shared approach to education.
As this network continues to develop, it reflects what D.R.E.A.M.S. Academy is working toward: creating consistent, meaningful access to learning, regardless of where students are.
